Welcome to IHTC 2017

The  third IEEE Canada International Humanitarian Technology Conference (IHTC 2017)  will be held in Toronto, Canada on July  20-22, 2017.

This unique conference will focus on the general areas of technology for improving the humanity falling within the UN Sustainable Development Goals (http://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/).

The conference will feature outstanding keynote speakers, workshops, a student paper competition and peer-reviewed papers. Humanitarian technology-oriented technical papers and papers describing social and economic factors related to humanitarian technology implementation are welcome for the conference.

Confirmed Keynote Speakers

Ratna Omidvar: Canadian politician and academic, who is representing Ontario at the Senate of Canada.

Lee Maracle: Canadian First Nations Coast Salish poet and author. She speaks out as a critic of the treatment of indigenous people by the Canadian people and she particularly highlights the issues relating to indigenous women.

Gavin Yeung: Manager, Earth Rangers Centre For Sustainable Technology

Ann Cavoukian: Executive Director, Privacy & Big Data Institute, Ryerson University
